The natural bone that grows on the head of a moose is shed yearly in winter. The antlers lay on the ground and are weathered by rain and sun leached. Alaska Natives have utilized the ulu since at least 1900 B.C. The knife is quite a versatile utensil for kitchen, shop, or outdoor use.
